Everything is Coming Up Andrea
Essay from April 2026 edition of "Loving Intention Connection" newsletter
Have you seen the Oscar-Nominated documentary film, "Come See Me In The Good Light"? If so, I don't need to use my psychic abilities to guess that it blew your heart wide open just like it did mine. So far, I've seen it twice and I am already wanting to watch it again.
If you haven't yet seen it, the film premiered at Sundance in January of 2025 and deservedly won the Festival Favorite Award. The film is about the life and work of Colorado's Poet Laureate, Andrea Gibson, including their journey with ovarian cancer and their deeply connected relationship with their wife, Meg Falley.
Andrea's spoken word poetry is captivating, their activism is heart-filled, and it is clearly evident in the film that they have experienced a spiritual awakening. Their wisdom, sense of humor, and their ability to walk their talk is nothing short of awe-inspiring. The film is the most life-affirming piece of work that I have ever experienced. To say that I recommend this film, is an understatement of ginormous proportions.
I was first introduced to Andrea Gibson via Tig Notaro a few years ago. I am a big fan of Tig's and to hear her speak so highly of Andrea and their work, I had to check them out. I started following them on Instagram, and when they released a video of them reciting their poem, "Love Letter From The Afterlife" to their wife, Meg, I was floored. So much of what they said about the afterlife is in alignment with what I experience in my mediumship work. In the hopes that it would bring some peace of mind to our collective grieving heart, I texted the video to many of my friends and clients.
A couple of weeks ago, my sweet friend, Melissa texted me a link to a podcast episode featuring Andrea. I listened to it immediately and the events that followed were astounding. I have included a video in the "My YouTube Adventure" section of this newsletter, in which I describe this delightful gift of an experience.
A day or so later, I received one line of a poem that kept making me giggle. So, a poem was born. The piece is included in the "Beauty and Truth" segment below, both in video and written form.
Fast forward a couple of weeks to this past Saturday, when I was at the Central KY Mystical Market. Before the market began, I was perusing the other booths and in typical fashion, I was oohing and aahhing over various stones and crystals. At The Rock Hounds booth I spied with my little eye, a phenomenal clear quartz cluster. I picked it up and was immediately wowed by the zippy energy that I felt. Several others held it as well and agreed that it was putting off some high vibrations. One person even got chills as soon as she touched it. So, I purchased it. The person who sold it to me said, "He almost didn't come today. I was walking out the door and he caught my eye and I felt that he wanted to come." (Once again, someone listening to their intuition, did me a solid.)
Later, I was spending some time holding the crystal and joked that I haven't ever named a crystal before but maybe this one wants a name. I laughed and said, "How about, Shirl?" My partner said, "didn't they mention feeling that it is a him?" I immediately resisted this idea and said, "I think it is non-binary, so how about naming it Andrea?"
A few minutes later, I was sitting with a new client in my reading room, and when I asked her what her first name is, guess what she said?
If you guessed "Andrea," you are correct!
Magic and beauty are all around us. Can you feel it?
